Premises of a school vandalised by protesters over the alleged suicide of a girl student in Kallakurichi
CHENNAI: The violence in Kallakurichi was motivated, planned and calculated, said the Madras high court on Monday, while ordering a re-postmortem of the body of a Class XII girl who was found dead in a private school in the district. The court directed the DGP to form a special team to identify the culprits based on videos of the violence and named a team of four experts to conduct the re-postmortem.
The court added that in cases of such unnatural death of students at educational institutions, the investigation must be conducted by the CB-CID and the postmortem must be performed by a team of three doctors and videotaped. The court issued these directions while hearing a plea moved by the victim's father seeking re-postmortem.
On the violence, Justice N Sathish Kumar said the perpetrators were captured clearly in videos circulating on social media.
He asked the DGP to "bring them before the court of law" while issuing directions to form special teams to probe the matter.
