PATNA: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) teams found the address of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma from the cellphone of Mohd Athar Parvez, who has been arrested in connection with the Phulwarisharif terror module case. Four persons have been arrested so far in this connection for their alleged involvement in radicalising the Muslim youths and training them in arms in a bid to turn India into an Islamic nation by 2047.
The NIA and IB teams joined Bihar police in the investigation and suspect that Nupur might also be on the target of Athar and his group for her controversial remarks on the Prophet.
"It is quite suspicious. The investigating team suspects that Nupur was on the target of the gang. They might be planning to take revenge on her for her recent controversial remarks. In the course of interrogation, several shocking facts surfaced, which are related to the anti-national activities. More names will also figure in the terror module case, which is being investigated from all aspects," an official privy to the investigation told TOI on Monday after more than 48 hours of interrogation of Athar and his accomplice Arman Malik. The two were sent back to jail.
Athar is a former member of banned Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) while Arman has alleged links with the PFI and SDPI. The Patna police had recovered an eight-page document from the houses of Mohd Jallauddin and Athar in the Phulwarisharif area on July 11, a day before PM Narendra Modi visited Patna. The document titled 'India 2047- towards rule of Islam in India' - mentioned the plans to establish an 'Islamic government' in the country by the 100th Independence anniversary of India.
