KALYAN: Two days after a biker died after hitting a pothole and coming under a bus in Kalyan, residents from Aadivali and Dhokali areas, led by former corporator Kunal Patil, came out on the streets on Monday and demanded that Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) fill the craters.
In Dombivli, 150-200 autorickshaw drivers, in their protest against potholes, refused rides to passengers. They called it off only after KDMC officials assured them to fill potholes as soon as possible.
Patil told TOI, "One person has died and two senior citizens got injured in Tilak Chowk area in Kalyan (W) due to potholes in the last 30 days. The KDMC claims that it is spending Rs 15.5 crore to fill potholes, but the work has not even started"
Resident Anand Dubey demanded that the KDMC fill the potholes on a war footing.
