THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress state vice-president K S Sabarinathan has been asked to appear before the assistant commissioner of police, Sanghumugham, who is probing the conspiracy case into the protest against the chief minister inside a flight, on Tuesday.
Sabarinathan has been asked to appear based on the reports that he had urged the Youth Congress workers to plan a protest inside the plane when the chief minister was coming to Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur. A screenshot of the WhatsApp group chat in which Sabarinathan has been allegedly asking this was leaked.
In a message allegedly sent by Sabarinathan in a WhatsApp group, which has the logo of the Youth Congress, he has suggested a protest inside the plane.
He has reportedly suggested “waving a black flag at the chief minister inside the plane so that the protesters cannot be thrown out of the flight.” To this message several other have replied and have supported the idea. One among them has also asked to sponsor the tickets for this.
However, Sabarinathan, while replying to the notice served by the police, said, “The protest that had happened inside the aircraft was peaceful and everyone has the right to protest. I am ready to answer all the questions of the police.”
Meanwhile, opposition leader V D Satheesan has said all political and legal support would be provided to Sabarinathan by the party.
