Organic farming launched in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Andoorkonam panchayat launched organic farming on 18 acres of land here on Monday.
Works standing committee chairman M Jaleel inaugurated the scheme.
The panchayat will brand the agricultural produce under the name ‘Andoorkonam Gramya Vegetables’. Hybrid saplings were planted for farming.
The barren land in the panchayat was identified for farming. Karshika Sena, which was formed from the employment guarantee workers, are part of the initiative. The vegetables will be sold via eco-shops.
