BHIWANDI: Six people were injured after a two-storey building collapsed on adjoining chawl room in Bhiwandi on Tuesday morning.
The injured people were taken to the IGM hospital where five, who have suffered minor injuries, were discharged after giving first aid treatment while one, who has suffered serious injuries, has been shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
The building, named Mobin Master, was declared 'dangerous' in 2017 by Bhiwandi-Nizampura Municipal Corporation.
The civic officials said that around 7.30am, the building structure collapsed on adjoining chawl room in which six labours, who worked in powerloom unit, got stuck.
"Hearing the sound of building collapse, locals went to the spot and informed police and fire brigade team, who later rescued the injured from debris and took them to IGM hospital," said officials.
Milind Parsule, public relations officer of BNMC, said, "Those who have suffered minor injuries after first aid treatment got discharged from hospital while one Mohammad Jahangir (26) who has suffered serious injuries is admitted to private Siraj hospital for treatment."
