The NSE Nifty index closed 62.05 points up at 16340.55, while BSE Sensex ended up 246.47 points at 54767.62.
On the other hand, .(down 1.54 per cent), .(down 1.33 per cent), .(down 1.26 per cent), .(down 1.18 per cent) and Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
