A bomb threat reported earlier today at Lambton College in Sarnia was determined to be unfounded, according to the Sarnia Police Service.

That’s as of after 1:30 p.m. when a shelter-in-place alert for individuals at the college and Progressive Auto Sales Arena was lifted.

The threat came in shortly before noon. The police service had issued an emergency notice to local Canadian residents, who were also advised to steer clear of the area.

The Aamjiwnaang First Nation notification system, which often sends out alerts in Chemical Valley, also sent out a notice of the bomb threat at Lambton. Alerts within two hours gave the all-clear.

The investigation into the alleged false threat continues, and further information was immediately available.

The Sarnia Police Service is asking anyone with information on the threat to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 519-344-8861 ext. 5300.
