Enjoying your studies makes a huge difference

Being surrounded by chartered accountants since her childhood as her grandfather, father, uncles and even fiancée is a CA, Surat-based Shrushti Sanghavi, 22, got naturally inclined to this field. Against the popular notion of girls sharing a difficult relationship with numbers, Shrushti, who is the AIR 3 in CA final exam chose to believe in herself and follow her dream.

Penning down a schedule and following a disciplined routine is the first step towards your goal, says Shrushti. “I started formal training with a CA educator in 2018. My initial preparation days were easier, with my schedule finding a place for social activities such as family gatherings, hanging out with friends and even informal dance breaks. It was in the final six months before the exams that the going got tough. I had even taken a complete break from social media to focus better,” she says.
Spending days that were 10-12 hours long, including her Articleship work, classes, and revision proved to be a taxing process. “There were times when lengthy syllabus would break your confidence. I would simply take a break to regain my strength.”

Shrushti, who has earlier been AIR 10 in the CA intermediate exam in 2019 is a firm believer that enjoying the process of studying will make all the difference. “Make a timetable and follow it closely. I was lucky to get support and guidance from my family. Most of them have been through this grind, thus, they understood my situation.Having the right mentor was also crucial in my success,” she says.
