The fairly young Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur in Chhattisgarh has made history by giving admission to more girls than boys this year. The IIM-Raipur has admitted 205 girls compared to 125 boys in its postgraduate management course for the 2022-24 academic session. The IIM Raipur was set up in 2010 in Chhatisgarh.
In the current session, the institute has now 20% more girls than boys in the flagship postgraduate programme.
Of the students enrolled for the two-year course in the current academic session, 62 per cent were girls and 38 per cent boys. The number is much higher in comparison to the previous academic session 2021-23, when 120 girls had been admitted as against 146 boys.
