Trouble for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer 'Ponniyin Selvan' as director Mani Ratnam gets a legal notice for allegedly misrepresenting Cholas in the film

Days after the teaser release, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer 'Ponniyin Selvan' has landed in legal trouble. A court has issued a legal notice against the director of the film Mani Ratnam and actor Chiyaan Vikram, playing the role of Aditya Karikala, for allegedly misrepresenting the Cholas in the film. The complainant has stated in court that Aditya Karikalan doesn't have a tilak on his forehead in real life whereas in the poster of the film Chiyaan Vikram dons a tilak. The petitioner demanded a special screening of the film ahead of its release to analyze if the makers had distorted historical facts in the film. For more news and updates stay tuned to ETimes.
