Mysuru: Though there is a facility for the registration of properties at the doorsteps, a family apparently was forced to summon a bed-ridden person to a sub-registrar’s office for property registration in Mysuru recently.
A video clip, that has gone viral, shows a man being brought in a stretcher and was seen being helped by three persons to give his thumb impression at a sub-registrar’s office. The details of the family are yet to be identified.
Aadish Sagar of Mysore Realtors’ Association said there is an option of private registration for property buyers and sellers on certain grounds, including medical, wherein the officers concerned would visit private places for property registration formalities. This will be done after a request is placed. It has to be looked into whether those who had brought the man had approached the officers concerned and made a request.
When contacted, Mysuru district registrar officer Mohan Kumar said there is an option for any registration at the doorsteps, “but after following certain procedures”. A request has to be given with supporting documents, pay the prescribed fee and follow necessary procedure. “I will inform officers in the district in this regard,” he added.
