Various students organisations and relatives of the students had forcibly entered the school premises and damaged the school buses and other properties.
CHENNAI: Private schools in Tamil Nadu will not function on Monday, KR Nandakumar, state secretary of TN Matriculation and CBSE Schools Association told TOI on Sunday.
Condemning the manner in which the government handled the Kallakurichi violence, he said that they allowed the situation to escalate and miscreants to damage school property (buses, certificates etc).

"There is no safety for private schools in the state. We demand a separate law in this aspect," he said.
When asked about Monday's protest, he said that teachers will come to classes with black badges but will not handle classes and messages have been sent to managements of all their member schools regarding this.
