Special postal cover on first donor of Bhoodan Movement at Pochampalli in Telangana

HYDERABAD: The first donor of Bhoodan Movement at Pochampalli in Telangana, Vedre Ramachandra Reddy, being honoured by the Telangana Postal Circle, by releasing a special postal cover on him.
The postmaster general, Hyderabad Region, P V S Reddy, released this special postal cover, on Sunday, on the occasion of 117th birth anniversary of Vedre Ramachandra Reddy, in the presence of his family. The special cover release was proposed and sponsored by Dr Vedre Prabodh Chandra Reddy, son of veteran Ramachandra Reddy.
Ramachandra Reddy, who born in 1905, was the first donor to voluntarily donated 100 acres of land to Acharya Vinobha Bhave (spiritual heir of Mahatma Gandhi) and initiated the famous ‘Bhoodan movement’ in 1951 at Pochampally village in Nalgonda district of Telangana.
PVS Reddy, speaking on the occasion and said, “the current generation to take inspiration and inculcate the spirit of the noble act of donating land by Vedre Ramachandra Reddy.
