Star chef Vishnu Manohar to prepare 75 recipes from 75 varieties of rice today

NAGOUR: Star chef Vishnu Manohar is going to attempt his 12th world record on Sunday, this time to mark the 75th year of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav).
Manohar will prepare 75 different dishes made of 75 varieties of rice found in India in just 5 hours — from 9 am to 2 pm — at Vishnuji Ki Rasoi, Central Bazar Road, Bajaj Nagar.
“This event is dedicated to the farmers of the country who develop different varieties of rice that feeds over huge population. We looked and got 75 different varieties from all parts of the country and I will attempt to prepare authentic rice dishes made of these varieties,” said Manohar.
Collecting 75 varieties of rice was not an easy task. He got help from Dinesh Mittal of Mittal Rice World in Latur. People will also get to see all 75 types of rice on Sunday.
Co-organizer of the event Vijay Jathe said that visitors will be provided with detailed information about the name of rice, variety, region and the dish that is being prepared. “At the same time, Vishnuji will be preparing the rice dishes and it will be offered to all. We need Nagpurians to join this record feat, see and taste the variety of different flavours of rice,” said Jathe.
