VADODARA: After finding its place among the top 100 universities of the country last year, MS University’s ranking has slipped this year.
As the
Ministry of Education released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022 on Friday, MSU featured in the rank band of 151-200 in the overall ranking. In the ranking of universities, it is ranked in the band of 101-150.
Last year, it was ranked 90th with a score of 39.48. Even in 2019 and 2020, MSU had featured in the university rank band of 101 to 150. Before that, it was not even among the top 200.
MSU’s best ranking has been 76th position when it started for first time in 2016.
The NIRF rankings were released for ten categories — overall, universities, engineering, management, pharmacy college, medical, law, architecture, dental and research.
Like every year, MSU’s pharmacy faculty made it to the top 50 as the faculty has been ranked in 16th position. Last year, it secured 24th position and a year before 14th.
The Faculty of Technology and Engineering which had featured at 117th position last year has been ranked at 149 this year. Sources said that MSU had also participated in the individual categories of law and medicine. But the list of 30 institutes in law category does not include its Faculty of Law. Similarly, the list of 50 medical institutes does not feature Faculty of Medicine.
