BAREILLY : A 45-year-old furniture trader in UP in his complaint to the local administration has alleged that sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Ghanshyam Verma, posted in Bilari tehsil of Moradabad district, sent two bulldozers to his house and razed a wall after he asked him to make a payment of Rs 2. 68 lakh for the furniture that he supplied to the latter’s place, reports Kanwardeep Singh.
Taking cognizance, Mora- dabad district magistrate Shailandra Singh directed additional district magistrate (ADM) Surendra Singh Friday to probe the matter.
Terming the trader’s allegations “incorrect”, the SDM said, “A complaint was made by a Bilari ward member on April 9 that Zahid Ahmad had encroached upon a village pond. After a probe by the lekhpal, a report was sent to me. On June 12, Ahmad demanded the matter be probed again and another report was submitted by the tehsildar on July 7, stating that he had taken over 84 sqm of land. ”
