Man held for pushing woman into flesh trade

Thane: The Anti Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the Thane police have arrested a pimp for pushing a woman into flesh trade, who has been rescued by the sleuths.
The police said on Friday that they had information that the accused was planning to sell the victim to the customers.
Based on the tip off, the AHTC sleuths laid a trap near Anand talkies area of Kopri and arrested the accused.
The rescued woman has been sent to a shelter home, the police said.
The police said that the sex racket is operational not just in MMR but in different parts of Gujrat, Delhi, and Ghaziabad as well. The girls are being sent to these places as per the requirements of the customer.
An offence under IPC sections 370(2), 370(3), and 34, and also under the PITA act has been registered at the Kopri police station, the official said.
The police officer further informed that they are on the look out for more persons that might be involved in the ongoing sex racket.
