RANCHI: Birsa Munda International Airport has bagged the top position for the second time in customer satisfaction survey conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) by achieving a score of 4.99 out of five on Friday. Ranchi was declared the winner along with
Udaipur airport which also scored same.
The announcement was made by AAI on its official Twitter handle declaring Ranchi as winner in the survey conducted between January and June this year. The survey was conducted by AAI through a third party in which Ranchi airport topped the chart among 55 midsized airports leaving behind Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Varanasi, Patna, Lucknow, Coimbatore and Trichy among others.
Talking to TOI, director of Birsa Munda International airport, K L Agarwal, said that under this survey every airport is adjudged on around 60 parameters.
“Facilities, including cleanliness, hassle-free check-in, time taken for security check-in and check-out, clean toilets, availability of eating joints, quality of food and beverages available, sitting area, availability of adequate chairs in waiting area, parking as well as the ambience of the airports are adjudged based on customer feedback. The passengers are also inquired about any other issues faced by them during their travel from the airport which is also included in the survey for grading,” said Agarwal.
This is for the second time that Ranchi airport has achieved this feat as it had won in 2020 by beating 17 airports across the country with a score of 4.77. At present, Birsa Munda International Airport handles a total footfall of 1.2 million passengers annually and operates 28 flights connecting major cities of country.
