Thiruvananthapuram: The private hospital, where the monkeypox-infected person had first taken treatment, has denied charges that it did not alert the district health administration about the suspected case.
The authorities of NS Hospital of Kollam said they had suspected monkeypox and had informed about it to the deputy district medical officer. The patient had come to the hospital in his own car and left the hospital himself. Though the hospital informed him of arranging an ambulance, he said that he would use his own conveyance.
Kollam district collector and district medical officer had said that there was serious lapses by the private hospital in not providing enough information about the patient. The DMO also flayed the hospital’s decision of not providing the patient an ambulance.
However, the private hospital said that it was the DMO office which directed to shift the patient to district hospital or medical college hospital.tnn
