Thiruvananthapuram: The forest department has sought legal advice in arresting
YouTuber Amala Anu for trespassing into a reserve forest in Kollam and disturbing wild animals.
The move is in view of her anticipatory bail application pending for consideration at the high court.
Meanwhile, attempts made by the department to arrest Anu turned futile twice.
Anu had escaped from the house in which she was hiding in Ernakulam on Monday morning when the shadow team reached there to arrest her. She was hiding in the house of one of her yoga students.
Police said she left for a friend’s house in Thiruvilwamala and reached there at 12:30am on Tuesday. From there, Anu called a friend in Pothencode and it helped the cybercell to trace her new hiding place.
The shadow team then reached Thiruvilwamala at 7am only to find that she had left the house at 6am.
A male friend was with her when she reached both the houses but the officials could not identify the person.
The yoga student in Ernakulam and the friend in Thiruvilwamala had told the shadow team that they were unaware about the case against her as she told them that she reached the places for a shooting for her channel.
The officers believe that the YouTuber must have crossed the border to
Tamil Nadu as CCTV footage showed them moving towards Palakkad.
Anu, a native of Kilimanoor, had encroached into Mambazhathara reserve forest and shot a video of a wild elephant using a helicam some six months ago.
