Assam police seize contraband drugs worth Rs 3 crore; drug peddler held in Karimganj district

GUWAHATI: Assam police on Friday seized a huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 3 crore and arrested a drug peddler in Karimganj district.
Karimganj superintendent of police Padmanabh Baruah said, "We received information that drug consignment is coming from Mizoram and launched an operation. We intercepted a Bolero vehicle and recovered around 470 grams of heroin from inside the fuel tank of the vehicle and arrested a person."
The market value of drugs is around Rs 3-4 crore, he added.
