NEW DELHI: Full emergency was declared at
Kochi airport on Friday following hydraulic failure in a Kochi-bound Air Arabia flight (G9- 426) from Sharjah (UAE). Cochin International Airport Authority later stated that the aircraft landed safely and the emergency was withdrawn around 8pm.
"The Air Arabia Airbus A321 aircraft (A6-ATB) while operating as G9-426, to Kochi was involved in hydraulic failure. It landed safely on runway 09 and shut down the engine. The aircraft was then towed to the parking bay," said a senior official.
"All 222 passengers and seven crew members on board are safe," Cochin International Airport Authority said in a statement.
Since the pilots had alerted Kochi Airport about the snag, the latter made all arrangements for an emergency landing.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is probing the case.
