Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.1% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:55AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Alkem Laboratories(up 1.67 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.54 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.01 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.79 per cent) and Laurus(up 0.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 2.17 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.98 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 1.89 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 0.91 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.74 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.1 per cent at 12733.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.35 points at 15969.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 78.54 points at 53494.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, SAIL, , Zomato Ltd. and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , PC Jeweller, GRP Ltd, Sonam Clock and . hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Karda Const, , and Wipro hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
