SHIV SENA president Uddhav Thackeray on Friday visited the party’s shakha in Byculla to meet the Shiv Sainiks who were allegedly attacked by unknown persons on Thursday night.

Later, Thackeray said that attacks on party workers would not be tolerated. He appealed to police to not get involved in politics and take action against culprits. Thackeray also said that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should be asked questions as he was the one actually running the government.

“Any attempts to play with the lives of Shiv Sena workers will not be tolerated. If police cannot bring the culprits to book, Sena workers will do it. Police shouldn’t get into politics. Provide security to Shiv Sainiks. If you are not able to do so, let us know, we are capable of doing it,” Thackeray said, adding that the police will be responsible for any untoward incident. Byculla is the assembly constituency of rebel Sena MLA Yamini Jadhav who switched to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction last month.
