The NSE Nifty index closed 110.55 points up at 16049.2, while BSE Sensex ended up 344.63 points at 53760.78.
On the other hand, .(down 2.67 per cent), .(down 2.58 per cent), .(down 2.20 per cent), .(down 1.89 per cent) and .(down 1.30 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
