RAJKOT: The detection of crime branch (DCB) arrested a 38-year-old man who had allegedly cheated several oil millers.
The accused Alpesh Parmar, a resident of Ruda Nagar-3 on Kalavad Road, was caught from Dhebar Road following a tip-off.
A cheating case was lodged against Parmar by the owner of a Morbi-based oil mill from whom he had ordered 36 tins of edible oil. He paid for two tins and said that the pending payment of Rs 94,870 will be done after the delivery in Rajkot.
When the oil tins were being transferred to a vehicle, Parmar along with the driver fled without making the payment. Questioning revealed that Parmar had cheated two oil millers in Jetpur and another in Morbi using the same modus operandi.
“Parmar used to sell the oil tins to catering firms,” said the police.
