Adani Transmissions(up 5.80%), PIGL(up 4.94%), Inox Wind Energy(up 2.66%), CESC(up 2.26%), NHPC(up 2.24%), SJVN(up 1.97%), Indowind Energy(up 1.86%), KEC International(up 1.73%), Torrent Power(up 1.67%) and JSW Energy(up 1.58%) stood among the top gainers.
Karma Energy(down 4.69%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.26%), RTNPOWER(down 3.90%), NLC India(down 2.77%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.17%), GE Power India Limited(down 1.72%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.56%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.55%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 1.21%) and DPSC(down 1.18%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 28.0 points down at 15938.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 98.0 points at 53416.15.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.3%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.17%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.61%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.51%), Britannia Industries(up 1.29%), Reliance Industries(up 0.82%), Enterprises(up 0.77%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.76%) and Nestle India(up 0.62%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 1.78%), Axis Bank(down 1.71%), HCL Technologies(down 1.61%), State Bank of India(down 1.47%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.44%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.4%), UPL Ltd(down 1.38%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.32%), Wipro(down 1.29%) and Divis Laboratories(down 1.19%) closed in the red.
