Vadodara: Professor Vanisha Nambiar from M S University’s Department of Foods and Nutrition, who also holds additional charge of deputy director of university’s Office of International Affairs, has been appointed to the
World Health Organization (WHO) technical advisory group for integrated clinical care (TAG-IC2) for a period of two years.
She is the only Indian member of the 22-member group. Nambiar received an invitation letter from Dr Rudi Eggers, director of WHO’s integrated health services headquartered at Geneva, Switzerland.
The TAG-IC2 function includes providing clinical support tools related to primary, emergency, operative and critical care. It advises WHO on the development and revision of integrated evidence-based guidance, standards, protocols, and pathways across these four delivery channels.
The advisory group has four members from the United States, two each from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Kenya and Nigeria apart from one each from Canada, Pakistan, Iran, Tunisia, Malawi, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Vietnam and Ethiopia.
