The NSE Nifty index closed 28.0 points down at 15938.65, while BSE Sensex ended down 98.0 points at 53416.15.
On the other hand, .(down 1.78 per cent), .(down 1.71 per cent), .(down 1.61 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.47 per cent) and .(down 1.44 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
