The NSE Nifty index ended the session 91.65 points down at 15966.65, while BSE Sensex fell 372.46 points to 53514.15.
In the Nifty index, Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.48 per cent), .(up 2.46 per cent), .(up 1.97 per cent), .(up 1.88 per cent) and .(up 1.66 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, .(down 3.31 per cent), .(down 2.94 per cent), .(down 2.78 per cent), .(down 2.44 per cent) and .(down 1.77 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
