Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.83 per cent), Kubota(up 1.57 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 0.95 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.84 per cent) and MRF(up 0.79 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Hero MotoCorp(down 1.12 per cent), Bosch(down 0.88 per cent), Tata Motors(down 0.8 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.55 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 0.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.07 per cent down at 12099.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 91.65 points at 15966.65, while the BSE Sensex stood down 372.46 points at 53514.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of , Zomato Ltd., , and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GRP Ltd, , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Foods & Inns, Vikas Proppant & Gr, , and MIC Electronics hit their fresh 52-week lows.
