VARANASI: Sensation prevailed when the decayed bodies of a woman Sunita Pandey (56) and her daughter Deepika Pandey (28) were found lying inside their home in Naria area under the limits of Lanka police station on Wednesday.
Additional commissioner of police Santosh Singh said that both bodies had been sent for postmortem. After the actual cause of their death would become clear, he said, police would lodge the case accordingly. It is suspected that they had died several days ago.
As murder was suspected police had also started investigating different issues including property dispute in this connection, admitted Singh.
With the spread of foul smell from the house of Sunita, which was locked from outside, the attention of locals was drawn and they reported the matter to Lanka police. When the cops broke into the house decayed bodies of mother and daughter were found lying there.
When police started investigating the matter it came to light that Sunita’s husband Balmukund Pandey, who worked in electricity department, had died two years ago.
The family owned a home in Cholapur and other at Naria area. Sunita’s elder son is settled in Prayagraj while her younger son Anjani Pandey stayed at Cholapur to run his farm house.
Singh said that during initial investigation of police it had surfaced that relations of Sunita and Anjani was bitter over property dispute. He said that further investigation in this case was in progress.
