Hubballi: The first additional civil court on Tuesday extended police custody by a week for those accused in the murder of vastu expert Chandrashekhar
Guruji.
The police produced accused Mahantesh Shirur and Manjunath Marewad before the court as their custody period ended on Monday.
Judge Nagesh Nayak heard the case and issued an order extending the police custody.
Police commissioner Labhu Ram said the team headed by Hubballi North ACP Vinod Moktedar has interrogated the accused for the last six days. “As we need more time to interrogate, we asked the court to continue the police custody,” he said.
He said the court had allowed “our request and extended the police custody for six more days till July 18”.
