Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 09:59AM

Aro Granite Industries(up 2.69%), Oriental Trimex(up 2.64%), Pokarna(up 2.39%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.89%), Ashapura Minechem(up 1.38%), Coal India(up 0.59%), 20 Microns(up 0.49%) and NMDC Ltd(up 0.24%) were among the top gainers.

Dvpt Corporation(down 0.48%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.22%), KIOCL(down 0.10%) and MOIL(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 63.4 points up at 16121.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 215.29 points at 54101.9 at around 09:59AM.

Hindustan Unilever(up 1.83%), Asian Paints(up 1.75%), Grasim Industries(up 1.52%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.51%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.48%), Infosys(up 1.45%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.32%), State Bank of India(up 1.08%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.01%) and Eicher Motors(up 1.0%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 1.33%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.64%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.62%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.52%), Reliance Industries(down 0.49%), HDFC Bank(down 0.4%), Enterprises(down 0.2%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.19%) and Hindalco Industries(down 0.12%) were trading in the red.
