Thiruvananthapuram: The search operation by the coastal police and local fishermen to find out Kiran, the youth who had reportedly gone missing in the sea four days ago, was stopped on late Tuesday night as it did not yield the desired result.
Kiran, 25, son of Madhu of Vallottukonam near Mottamoodu at Pravachambalam, went missing on Saturday noon after he went to meet his girlfriend near Azhimala temple along with his friend and a relative. He was allegedly beaten up by the girl’s brother Hari and brother-in-law Rajesh. Later, Hari took away Kiran on a two-wheeler after questioning him about his affair with his sister and assaulting him. Hari and Rajesh are absconding after the incident.
Though it is necessary to find out and question the duo to know the truth behind Kiran’s disappearance, police are still clueless where they are hiding. In the meantime, Kiran’s father Madhu came up with a new revelation that Kiran was threatened earlier by Hari and was warned against visiting the place where the girl’s house is located.
The statement of an auto driver who has reportedly seen someone drowning falling into the sea near the temple and Kiran’s footwear received from the shore and the CCTV footage of Kiran running towards the sea are the three factors that force police to assume that Kiran has got drowned in the sea.
“Last time, the body of a missing man was found stuck among the rocks during low tide. In such cases, recovering the body is impossible ,” said police. tnn
