Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh): Polling for Ratlam Municipal Corporationís (RMC) mayoral post and 49 corporator posts will take place on July 13. A total of 2,14,336 voters including 1,07,167 female voters, 1,07,165 male voters and four others will exercise their franchise.
According to official information, 270 polling booths have been set up for the polling which will take place from 7 am to 5 pm.
Polling material has been distributed on Tuesday to the polling parties from the premises of the Government Arts and Science College and all preparations for the July 13 civic body elections are complete, according to official information.
Meanwhile, on July 13 in the second phase of the civic body elections in the district, polling will also take place for Jaora municipality (voters -54,528), Namli municipal council (voters- 8,309), Piploda municipal council (voters-6,092), Barawada municipal council (voters- 6,973) and Dhamnod municipal council (voters -6,227).
For the mayoral post of Ratlam Municipal Corporation, the main fight is between Prahalad Patel of BJP and Mayank Jaat of Congress.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had taken part in a roadshow on July 9 and also addressed an election meeting in support of BJP candidates while former Chief Minister Kamal Nath took part in the roadshow on July 11 and addressed an elections meeting in support of Congress candidates.
Mayoral post-election in particular has become prestigious for both the main rival parties and campaigning had also reached its peak during the electioneering.
