Mysuru: Forest officials are searching for a tiger spotted prowling near Chikkanandi village in HD Kote.
A rescue operation has been launched with the help of special task force personnel and four tamed elephants of the forest department to trace the big cat, said Kamala Karikalan, deputy conservator of forest. A local informed forest officials about a tiger prowling in their neighbourhood. The tiger was sighted near a human dwelling by forest personnel late on Sunday.
The operation to nab the big cat was launched on Monday. However, because of heavy rain in the area, forest personnel are unable to track the footprints of the tiger.
DCF Kamala said residents in neighbouring villages have been alerted about the big cat using loudspeakers. tnn
