Thane: The Thane police in order to maintain law & order and peace in the city has imposed the prohibition orders. The orders will be in place in Thane police commissionerate area till 23rd July, 2022.
Earlier due to the political atmosphere, a prohibition order was imposed till July 8 to maintain public peace and order.
Thane City special branch deputy commissioner of police Dr Sudhakar Pathare has enforced the prohibition order and extended it till July 23.
Dr Pathare said, "During the prohibition order, citizens are prohibited from carrying swords, spears, sticks, guns, explosives or anything that could be used to injure the body. It is also forbidden to make public announcements, sing songs, play musical instruments, gathering of five or more people, hold public meetings, and processions and make announcements, etc. However, this order shall not apply to gatherings for marriages, funeral processions, gatherings at government offices, courts, government institutions, educational institutions, meetings and processions permitted by the commissioner of police and the police officers provided by them. We have also clarified that action will be taken against the citizens who break the prohibition order."
