Husband arrested after woman ends life in Ullal

Mangaluru: Following the death of a woman under suspicious circumstances, Ullal police arrested the husband of the deceased on charges of abetment to suicide and harassment. The incident came to light on Monday morning. The deceased is Jamsheera, 25 and the arrested is Irfan.
Police said the couple were married for about two years, but frequently picked up fights with each other. On Sunday, after an argument, Jamsheera went to a room and hanged herself with the help of a sari. Irfan reportedly shifted her to a hospital where a doctor declared her dead.
Based on a complaint, by the victim’s relative, a case has been registered. The post-mortem report is awaited. The couple has an eight-month-old child. TNN
