Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:14AM

Ashapura Minechem(up 2.66%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.76%), Pokarna(up 1.68%), 20 Microns(up 1.58%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.14%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.02%) and KIOCL(up 0.10%) were among the top gainers.

NMDC Ltd(down 4.22%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 3.36%) and Dvpt Corporation(down 0.10%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 67.55 points down at 16148.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 198.23 points at 54197.0 at around 10:14AM.

Enterprises(up 2.87%), NTPC(up 1.59%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.03%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.72%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.53%), Wipro(up 0.45%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.41%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 0.4%), Axis Bank(up 0.36%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 0.2%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 3.0%), Titan Company Ltd(down 1.65%), HDFC(down 1.3%), JSW Steel(down 1.26%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.21%), UPL Ltd(down 1.19%), Tata Steel(down 1.13%), Asian Paints(down 1.1%), Eicher Motors(down 0.98%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.96%) were trading in the red.
