Start-up dreams in sight for JEE (Main) West Bengal topper

KOLKATA: A student from Howrah’s Shibpur scored above 99.9 percentile to top JEE (Main) in Bengal. His all-India rank in 43.
State topper Ashutosh Agarwal has fixed his goal to start up his own software business. Presently, he wishes to study in one of the IITs — be it Delhi, Mumbai, Kharagpur. Ashutosh has planned to pursue management courses after completion of his engineering course.
“I’m from a service family and my father is in the banking sector. I want to start my own business. So, after engineering I want to pursue MBA and then I will build my own start-up that will be based on software,” he said. This year, he took CBSE Class 12 board exams and is waiting for the results now.
Ashutosh has topped in Bengal in his first attempt but he has decided to take a second attempt to better his score. “Over the last two years, I got enough time to do self-study, which actually helped me prepare well for the exams,” he said.
This year, JEE (Main) was scheduled in two sessions. The results of the first session were published on Monday. The second session will be conducted in the middle of July. National Testing Agency (NTA) has released JEE (mains) topper list on its official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The first session was conducted from June 24 to 30. This time, 14 students have scored 100 percentile.
