Despite numerous leaks, we still have not seen Pei and Nothing launch a new pair of earbuds yet. Leaks had previously suggested that the 'Nothing ear (1) stick' variant would launch today. Maybe we will see a silent launch later on for the same.
After many leaks, we finally have official confirmation that the Nothing phone (1) will come in a black variant.Unlike what we saw with the Nothing ear (1), it seems both the white and the black variant will be available to buy together.
The phone (1) comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, along with a 4,500mAh battery with 33W wired charging, 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging support. The phone (1) also comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The phone (1) will also be available in three storage variants. These are the 8GB/128GB, 8GB256GB and 12GB/256GB variants.
The Nothing phone (1) features equal-sized bezels on all four sides including the usually thicker chin. Pei shares that this is possible due to a flexible OLED panel on the phone (1), a feature we only see in select high-end flagship phones.
The phone (1) comes with two cameras on the back, as the brand already revealed earlier this month. This includes a 50MP primary Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS and EIS and another 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor. Pei showcases unfiltered camera samples straight from the phone (1).
When recording video, a red LED on the back of the phone lights up to know recording is on. You can record up to 4K video on the phone (1), shares Pei, also revealing that the launch event itself is being recorded on the Nothing phone (1).
The Nothing phone (1) is largely made up of recycled materials, but Pei notes that the aluminium frame is sandwiched between Gorilla Glass 5 layers, meaning you can't touch plastic when you hold the Nothing phone (1)
The phone (1) also comes with close to stock Android, but tiny additions like a dedicated quick setting toggle for the Nothing ear (1), which Pei says will come to other brands' devices also. One of these brands is Tesla, with the phone (1) allowing you to have remote control over some aspects of your Tesla car.
The launch event has now begun and Carl Pei is here with the phone (1) in his hand. The event begins with Pei showing off the Glyph Interface and its capbilities, the most unique aspect of the phone.
The Nothing phone (1) launch event has begun with what seems like an audio glitch. We currently do not know if this is deliberate or a genuine technical issue by the brand. The launch event should begin soon enough.

Accessories for the phone (1) have been a mystery so far, but ahead of the launch, a new leak by Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) on Twitter has revealed three first-party accessories for the phone, along with their pricing. These include a charging adapter, a protective tempered glass and a clear bumper case. Check them out below.
We still don't know if the prices mentioned in the leak are correct, or whether those who pre-ordered the Nothing phone (1) will get a discount on the same. More information should be available during the event itself, which will begin shortly.
The launch event begins in one hour. Nothing is expected to launch the Nothing phone (1), but we may also see a secondary launch in the form of the Nothing ear (1) stick earbuds.
Tipster Yogesh Brar has suggested that the Nothing phone (1) will launch later today in multiple regions including, India, Spain, UK, Germany, Singapore and UAE. Check out the full list of countries in the tweet below.
Nothing phone (1) users may get a transparent case for the phone as part of the box package. A new tweet by user 丂んノ丂んノr (@ShishirShelke1) shows the white variant of the device unboxed, revealing what looks like a transparent TPU case inside the box.
Nothing confirmed earlier this month that the phone (1) will come with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate panel when the company released a TikTok video showing the phone's 'Smooth Display' setting option. However, as you can see in the video, the option comes as a single toggle allowing you to turn in off (for constant 60Hz) and turn it on (for adpative 60Hz/120Hz).
Check out the video, reshared by a Twitter user, below.
It seems users will not be able to force 120Hz on the device, at least for now, as there is no dedicated option for the same. Many devices from rival brands let you force their higher refresh rates in addtion to an automatic-switching or dynamic switching mode. Nothing could, however, add this feature later via an update.
Nothing is also set to reportedly launch a new variant of the ear (1) earbuds today during the launch of the Nothing phone (1). While not much is currently known about the new ear (1) ‘stick’ variant, we do know that the earbuds will feature slight design changes and come in a new package. The Nothing ear (1) stick was also spotted being certified by the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) recently.
