After being closed for about a week due to severe rains, all educational institutions, including schools and anganwadis, in the twin coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi will reopen on Tuesday. Schools, anganwadis, and other educational institutions are to open as of today, according to instructions issued by the deputy commissioners of the two districts.

If rain-related problems persisted, additional holidays will be declared, according to DK deputy commissioner K V Rajendra. The meteorological agency has issued an orange signal for Tuesday in the districts of DK and Udupi.

In order to make up for the lost teaching time during the rainy season, Mr. Rajendra stated that the schools would remain open all day on Saturdays and that the Dasara holidays would be shortened.
