Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): Local traders have alleged that the contractor has been collecting excess fees from buyers and sellers thronging the cattle market in Mandsaur.
The local civic body has given the animal market on contract. It is alleged that the contractor has been collecting more fees than the fee fixed by the municipality, from the traders coming to the market.
Whatís more shocking is that the receipt only contains the number of animals but there is no mention of the collected fee. Even after a complaint has been made to the chief of the municipal council, no action has been taken in this regard as yet.
Giving further information, social worker Basant Parmar said that traders collectively have made a complaint to the CMO in this regard. Parmar himself had written a letter to District collector Gautam Singh in order to attract the attention of authorities and demanded that a board showing the prescribed fee be put up at an appropriate place in the market to prevent corruption. He also demanded stern action against the contractor in this regard.
