Seoni (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident unveiling corruption was witnessed in Seoni after a bridge, built a few days ago connecting a village with Jabalpur Seoni Highway was swept away in the swollen river due to the incessant rain.
The bridge broke into two pieces due to excessive flow of rainwater. Locals filmed the incident which went viral on social media.
As per the records, the bridge was constructed a few days ago at cost of crores.
According to the information, the bridge is 50 km away from the district headquarters and was built over the drain on the road leading to Sari Wala Dev Dwar
On receiving information, Bargi station in charge, Ritesh Pandey immediately reached the spot along with his staff and barricaded the area to prevent any untoward incident.
In view of the danger, the police administration is keeping an eye on the area.
Due to the breakdown of the bridge, the movement of vehicles and people came to a complete halt. Villagers were either stuck or had to take long diverted routes.
The villagers warned the officials of protest and demanded to resolve the issue at the earliest.
