Jagadesh Kumar, the UGC chairman, announced via a Twitter video that the admit cards for Phase 2 of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be released on July 31. The phase 1 cards are already out since 6 pm today, July 12. Candidates will now be able to download their admit card from the official CUET UG website - cuet.samarth.ac.in.
In the video, Kumar announced the reason behind the cards being issued just a few days prior to the examination. He said that it is “ensure that there is good security in the entire process of conducting this computer-based examination. This is a common practice in all the examinations that NTA conducts, whether it is JEE Mains, NEET and now in CUET. We usually issue admit cards four days before the examination starts.”
NTA has already released the city intimation slip for candidates appearing for both the phases. The UGC chairman further added that there is no need for the students to panic as majority of them will have their centre in the city that have chosen. The remaining ones, though will not get their first preferred city, but will get their second preference.
Students who wish to change their city can do so by contacting NTA at 011-40759000 or send an e-mail at cuet-ug@nta.ac.in.
The CUET UG will be held from July 15 to August 10.
