Track washed away between Chandod and Kevadia
VADODARA: Train connectivity to the world’s tallest statue — the Statue of Unity (SoU) — in Narmada district got disrupted as the railway track between Chandod and Ekta Nagar (Kevadia colony) section got washed away following heavy rain in the region.
Following this, the passenger train between Ekta Nagar and Pratapnagar in Vadodara remained cancelled on Monday while another train from Pratapnagar to Ekta Nagar also got cancelled.
Similarly, the Ahmedabad-Ektanagar Jan Shatabdi Express was short terminated at Dabhoi railway station and partially cancelled between Dabhoi and Ektanagar.
Officials of the Vadodara railway division said that about 50 passengers were asked to de-board from the train at Dabhoi from where they were taken to Kevadia Colony in a bus.
“The bus left with the passengers at around 11.30 am for Kevadia Colony. All the passengers were provided drinking water on the route,” said an official of the railway division.
