Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai reviews rain damage in Kodagu district

MYSURU: Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday reviewed the damages caused by rain and flood in the Kodagu district.
The chief minister said the first round of flood-rain damage survey was completed and the report would be available by today evening.
"There is no shortage of funds for the relief works. Rs 730 crore is available for the immediate repair, and relief works," he added.
He said efforts would be done to convince the people living in the seismic zones to move to a safe place.
Bommai has sought a report from the experts on relocating the families staying on the river banks to avoid damages in the coming days.
He also made it clear that district in charge ministers were actively involved in the rain-flood relief works and monitoring.
"Heads of boards and corporations who completed one and half years term will be replaced with new faces according to the decision taken by the core committee of the party-state unit six months ago," he said.
Speaking to reporters in the city, he said the idea was to create opportunities for new faces.
