For the position of regular teachers in various schools across several districts managed by the Directorate of Elementary Education in Assam, the Assam government on Tuesday delivered appointment letters to 280 candidates with special needs.

Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu gave out the employment letters to the applicants during a ceremony that was organized at the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Convention and Training Centre in Dispur in Guwahati.

There have been a total of 193 candidates appointed for lower elementary schools, 75 for upper primary, and 12 for positions teaching science in upper primary.

Senior departmental representatives from the elementary education division attended the program as well.

In his speech, Dr. Pegu said that under the direction of Assam's Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a revolutionary transformation had occurred in the appointment of teachers through the holding of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exams in a free and fair way.

All of the candidates were urged by him to think positively and advance with the intention of serving the country through their chosen profession of teaching.

The education minister went on to say that the education department has been working nonstop to improve the school infrastructure in order to guarantee high-quality education.
